The Future of Mobility x Salesforce Exhibition - Movement Series by Chris Hanson

September 8, 2026

In the modern world, it’s necessary for us to value what is calculated and quantifiable. In making these paintings, I focused on trying to exaggerate how they made me feel, rather than imposing any expectations.

It led me to create highly active paintings with strongly contrasting colors. I don’t always succeed, but when I do it’s because, for a brief time, I’m not preoccupied by any of the distractions or expectations in modern life. These moments are what change a painting from just aesthetically pleasing, to something that has a strong voice and deeper reach.

The fact that this can feel distinctly different to every person that engages with it should be celebrated. Feeling is the filter through which we experience life.
I invite you to look inward to experience how these feel to you. If only just to take a break from the outside noise.
