Welcoming the Light Exhibition by Carolyn Reynolds

June 27 – July 31, 2021

Welcoming the Light

What a beautiful way to describe Carolyn Reynolds paintings.

Carolyn Reynolds believes her paintings suggest motion due to the ever changing light reflected in her work.

Carolyn says she has hummingbirds all around her home where she paints in Southern California.

Hummingbirds represent an ancient symbol of joy and happiness. Their colorful appearance brings good luck

and positive energy into our lives.

In Native American cultures hummingbirds are seen as healers, bringing  love, good luck, joy, peace and harmony. Some people see them as signs of angels reminding us to follow what makes us happy and to enjoy the moment.

Hummingbirds are often painted in multiples depicting devotion, domestic harmony and a reminder of the life cycles.  Many people report seeing a hummingbird after a loved one has passed away or when a big life shift has occurred.

The simplicity of her work suggests a quiet easy way of life.  When you stand in front of her work you can see your reflection becoming part of the experience.
